i often gravitate toward quieter, muted photographs when looking at work that inspires me. but sometimes

sixty-three

today is my dad's sixty-third birthday. i asked him if he could have anything he wanted for dinner what would it be? he requested lasagna. it doesn't take much to make him happy. i also made wacky cake cupcakes, a recipe my grandma and mom always made for our family birthdays.





i love you, dad. happy birthday. here's to sixty-three, listening to the beatles 'birthday' every year, and you.

lately i've been listening to a lot of Christmas music (i love this mixtape by andrew and carissa), keeping warm,

reading daily advent readings, throwing together a ramshackle last minute advent calendar and spending time with my family.
